Perfect Horse Auctions offers Sellers A PROFESSIONAL online AUCTION THAT EFFECTIVELY REACHES LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETS.
Get Ready ...
- Decide What to Sell
- Look in your barn, garage, tack room, storage unit, even your horse trailer!
- Collect Information, such as:
- Name of company/artist/designer/author? Model or serial number?
- When and where was it made? What material is it made of?
- Is the item new, used, or still under warranty? What condition is it in?
- What are its dimensions/size/weight?
- Does it have any notable features, markings, special background or history?
- Research the Price
- How you price your item is key to getting it seen by interested buyers. You also want to get a price you're happy with.
- Find out what other sellers are charging. Check online as well as in local stores and classifieds.
- Consider having your horse (or item) professionally appraised. Getting the price right is the key to successful selling.
- Take Photos
- Pictures sell your items faster than words. Quality photos are very important. Provide photos of front, back and sides of your item. This will present your item professionally and in detail.
- Good lighting with a plain background is the best way to display your photos.
- You must have digital photos on your computer to add them to the listing.
- The photos must be in standard digital photo formats (if you took them with a digital camera they should be fine).
- If you scan your photos to your computer, or edit them with digital software, be sure to save them as smaller jpg files.
- Photo file size must not be larger than 100K each. If your photos are larger, please use your digital editing software to reduce the size. Your software may not specify file size. In that case, you may choose a relative size, such as "smaller jpg ", or indicate use, such as "for sending by email ".
- You can also use an online service to resize your photos, such as Web Resizer.
- Videos
- Post a video on Youtube and link it to your listing!
- Video will display on the listing page
- If a video for your product or horse is already hosted on Youtube, you do not need your own Youtube account. Please ask the owner for permission before linking to their Youtube video.
- Some categories require a fee for adding videos.
- Determine Packaging and Shipping Cost
- Consider what expense will be involved in packaging materials, delivery or shipping.
- Check shipping charges online with USPS, FedEx and UPS to determine shipping costs.

- For Standard Auctions, you may set a (hidden) reserve price. The reserve price will not be shown to buyers. If you set a reserve price, your item will not sell until the reserve price has been met. Many buyers prefer bidding when there is no reserve set.
- If you choose a Buy Now format, be sure that you do NOT set a reserve price higher than the Buy Now price, or buyers will not be able to complete the purchase.
